As I sit down to write my first post, I want you all to know that my husband is in his happy place, the place where he goes to find all the excitement in the world, the place that brings much anticipation and keeps him patiently waiting; his deer stand. On the other hand, that is the place that puts me to sleep, the place where I freeze my butt off and the place that makes me want to be curled up in my bed more than anything, which is where I am right now and where I will usually be while my love is out there . I like to think I have the better end of the deal. The idea to start blogging started when my husband, Andrew, was talking to me before the wedding about how after we are married (which was at the beginning of October, 2014, of course right in the heart of deer season) he would be spending a lot of his free time , hunting. I knew my man loved to hunt, but never did I realize he loved it so much that he would be spending the first few weeks/weekends of married life in a deer stand (he does ask me if I want to go occasionally…so thoughtful). The amount of money he spends on hunting gear and accessories could probably pay off all my college tuition. I do not say this to throw my wonderful, generous and loving husband under the bus, I tell you this, so you understand how important deer season is to him. I thought to myself, I cannot be the only newlywed, or married woman who has experienced this? So I decided, while he is in the deer stand, I’ll write a blog for all the women out there whose man loves to hunt just as much as mine! Although this will be fixed around a hunting theme, I hope this is not just a place for the married women, but a place for all ladies to come, read and laugh and get a glimpse of how Jesus Christ is changing my life as a 22 year old , married, college student.
It is November 1st and we have been married for exactly three weeks, today. Marriage has been the most exciting, hilarious and blessed learning experience that has ever happened to Andrew or me. Yes, some may say we got married too young, but as a wise women once told me, “when you know, you know and so why wait?”. I remember meeting Andrew for the first time was when I was just a youngin’. He came to the front door with one of his older brothers to ask if they could go hunting on my parents’ property. Go figure. Our story is quite interesting from there. The Lord knew exactly what he was doing from the beginning. Andrew would then go on to be my oldest brother’s best friend. We watched each other grow through many stages of life and quite honestly, it is by God’s grace that he married me three weeks ago. My hope is that Andrew and I can be a light to others through our journey and that we would be a testament of faith to all who read this blog.
